Qi Gong is an ancient Chinese exercise and healing technique that embraces coordinated postures, mindful movement, breathing and meditation to release tension, improve focus and clarity, and boost mental and physical wellbeing. Each of which are important qualities for a productive workplace!

Qi is the Chinese proverb for life energy, so this practice is designed to cultivate and balance your life energy through the coordination of the eyes and body. It encourages a strong mental focus to engage the actions of the hands with the energy of the heart. During the practice, we realign our focus on the present moment and improve the quality of the energy flowing through us. The practice is not designed for your team to break out in a sweat, but rather help them to feel refreshed, relaxed and reinspired!

Suitable for all ages and abilities, it can be practiced inside or outside and does not require any equipment.

 

Mindfulness Movement in the workplace

Because of this, we gain a greater sense of clarity and our focus improves, which is especially helpful in careers that require a quick transition between tasks while maintaining the quality of work. Neuroscience studies show that by practicing mindfulness each day, we can boost the areas of the brain that have to do with attention regulation.

At Quest For Peace, we bring mindfulness training and meditation practice to your workplace to improve staff morale and team cohesion, and teach tangible methods to manage stress and burnout.

During a group mindfulness session, you and your team will learn ways to cultivate mindfulness in the workplace and at home.

Unfortunately, statistics are showing that mental illness in children and teenagers Is on the rise with many struggling with anxiety, depression and self-harm. A report by Mission Australia revealed that nearly one in four Aussie teens met the criteria for having “a probable serious mental illness” – that’s a 20% increase from five years ago. Research also revealed that mental illness in primary school aged children is also rapidly increasing and can lead to a reduced learning capacity.

It’s important for schools to lead the conversation in this area and show students the skills and strategies required to navigate their thoughts and emotions while also remaining resilient in modern society.

Sessions are tailored to suit the age group in a way that is engaging, and can range from half an hour to one hour depending on your needs. They can be practiced as a once-off introduction to mindfulness, at school camps or as part of the regular curriculum.
